I'm a bad mommy (T_T)

As Baby SN is now 2 months and 3 weeks old, he stays awake for longer periods during the day, which means more time for me to play with him but it also means less time for me to spend on blogging & blog-hopping hohoho.

This week, hubby realize that he has been able to roll by himself and to lift his head and hold it up for several moments, or even longer, while lying on his back. The first time baby SN roll by himself is during early morning that I am sooooooo damn sleepy to open my eyes and to witness it by myself *mamai2 je masa hubby bagitau tu, antara dengar dengan tak je huhuhuh*.

Later in the afternoon, when he falls asleep, I leave him on his playmat. His playmat is placed on the sofa bed and on the sofa bed itself, we put his Lilo & Stitch mattress to ensure that the place is comfortable enough for him as we didnt buy baby cot for Nazhan. Little did I know that my action has lead to an unexpected incident.

After putting Nazhan on his 'bed', I took a glance on him to make sure that he's fine and I started to perform my routine job i.e bloghopping when suddenly I heard a loud 'BANG....DUMMM' noise next to me . Surprised by the sound, I couldnt think of anything else except to straight away checking on my baby.


True to what I am feeling, I saw baby SN's lying on his Disney puzzle mat that I placed on the floor right next to his sofa-bed-play-mat. He had roll himself from his sleeping position and falls down from his bed onto the puzzle mat. He cries so loud that I think the whole city can hear his voice *okeh, a bit exaggerating here...tapi memang dia nangis kuat giler*. I'm panicked, dunno what to do and started to cry together with him. But then, I manage to put myself together again and quickly hugs him and try to comfort him and at the same time, looking for any bump or even bleeding sign on his head.

When baby SN stops crying, I quickly surf on the net to find out what I should do when this incident happen. Here's some tips on what to do when your baby bumps his head as given by AskDrSears.com :-

• Don't panic. --> Stay calm. If your child sees you remain relaxed, he is more likely to calm down.
• Ice, ice, ice! --> Gently hold an ice pack to the bump. This will decrease the eventual size of the bump. Apply the ice for 20 minutes and then take a 5-minute break, then 20 minutes again.
  
• Stop the bleeding --> Simply apply gentle pressure to the cut using a cloth. The bleeding will stop with time. Children virtually never lose too much blood from a cut or bump, even though it may seem like a lot.
• Observe your child --> If your child is alert and conscious, walking, talking, playing, and acting like she was before the fall, ther's nothing to worry about. Following an injury, it can be difficult to tell the difference between a mild traumatic brain injury (concussion) and a more serious brain injury. Watch the child carefully for 24 hours after a head injury to see whether he or she develops any signs of a serious head injury.

Luckily, there's nothing unusual on baby SN that I need to worries about. Few minutes after the fall, he smiles and 'talking' back to me as usual. Phewwww ...what a relief. When hubby comes home, I told him about this fall so hubby quickly took action by rotating the sofa bed in order to create a 'wall' to Nazhan's bed. Though it might look not so-casa-impian by putting the sofa in this way, as long as it can keep our baby safe..I have nothing to complaint about .

Pssssttt: Nasib baik I gedik nak pasang Disney puzzle mat tu sebab I tak tahan sangat tengok designya yang cute so I terus pasang walaupun cadangnya nak pasang Disney puzzle mat tu lepas baby SN dah tau duduk. huhuhu..kadang2 berguna gak sifat over excited seorang mummy .
