Test Lesen Jepun yang mencabar jiwa raga

http://www.murabbi.net/images/smiley/assalamualaikum.gif
In Japan, even though driver's seat are on the right hand side like Malaysia; the steps to get Japanese License wasn't as easy as in our country. Some of my friends here even had to took the test for the 10-th time before finally obtaining the license. As for me, I did passed it last 2 weeks on my 4th attempt. Alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah.

Mula-mula I memang tak berhajat pun nak ambil lesen Jepun, tapi sebab hubby dah balik Malaysia...nak tak nak I terpaksa jugak kena ada lesen Jepun. Bukan apa, selama ini I cuma guna international License saja, dan international license tak valid sebab I dah stay kat Jepun ni 3 tahun lebih. Foreigners can drive in Japan with a recognized international driving permit for up to one year after entering the country.

I cuma risau kalau accident ke apa, jadi masalah besar pulak considering that I tak ada lesen Jepun; so I pun ambik lah jugak lesen Jepun walaupun banyak jugak lah duit habis.

Foreign license must be converted into Japanese. For conversion (Japanese translation of foreign license– available from the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF), you must prove that you have stayed in the country where your foreign license was issued for over three months. The foreign license must be valid at the time of conversion.

You must apply with the necessary documents noted below and pass the aptitude test, written test, and practical test. Written tests involve 10 simple questions and can be taken in English, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Persian, Thai, Tagalog, or Russian.

Necessary Documents :
- Application form (available at the driving test center)
- 2 photographs: length 3cm×width 2.4cm (color or black & white); taken within 6 months
- Valid foreign license
- Official foreign license translation from:  Japan Automobile Federation (JAF)
- Passport: a proof showing that you have stayed in the country for over 3 months after obtaining your foreign license
- Alien registration card or certificate of alien registration
- Interpreter (If you do not speak Japanese)

+- step by step nak ke kaunter mana (kat tempat test lesen) -+

Sebelum hubby balik Malaysia, dia sempat bagi tips kat I. Plus I pun ada cari tips dengan kawan2 kat sini dan jugak dari foreigners yang lain yang share experience diorang kat forum2.

So, I pun nak share jugak lah kat sini untuk kawan2 yang mungkin nak ambil test lepas ini so that korang tak berhabis duit setiap kali kena retest.

TAKING THE TEST - for automatic transmission

(1) Before You Get In The Car
Walk around car and do the following:
  • Bend down and look under the back of the car
  • Bend down and look under the front of the car
  • Before walking out toward the driver's side, look both ways as if you are parked on a very busy street
(2) Before You Start the Engine
Sit in the driver's seat and do the following (in any order)

  • Adjust your seat, even if it doesn't need it.
  • Put on your seat belt; make sure there are no twists.
  • Put your hand on the rear-view mirror, adjust if needed, and double-check the side mirrors.

(3) Before You Pull Out
When the proctor has given you the okay do the following in order:
  1. Check that emergency brake is in place, visually or with your hand
  2. Start the car with the brake pressed in
  3. Release the emergency brake
  4. Put your turn signal on
  5. Put the car into Drive
  6. Before you move the car, do the "full head spin"
    • Look over your left shoulder
    • Look in your passenger side mirror
    • Look in your rear-view mirror
    • Look in your driver side mirror
    • Look over your right shoulder
  7. If you're clear, really clear, slowly pull forward

(4) On The Road
  • Stay left - The only time you don't stay to the left side is when you are making a right turn. In that case, go to on the right side of the lane within 50cm (but be careful of the line!) * I failed the 2nd time because I tak cukup rapat ke kiri/ke kanan sebelum membelok*
  • Pump those brakes
When you slow down or stop, always pump your brakes instead of pressing down on them once. This is especially important right before you enter a curve. *I failed the 2nd time sebab I brake masa kat selekoh, sepatutnya kena brake sebelum corner*

  • Signal early and often
  • Look over your shoulder
    (a) LEFT TURN - This is one of the most unintuitive, but important rules you must follow in order to pass the test. Every time you make a left turn:
    1. Look right.
    2. Look left.
    3. Look in your passenger side mirror.
    4. Look over your left shoulder. (IMPORTANT!)
    5.
    (b) RIGHT TURN - When you make a right turn, the procedure is the same:
    1. Look left.
    2. Look right.
    3. Look in your driver's side mirror.
    4. Look over your right shoulder
    5.
    (c) CHANGING LANES - When you change lanes, ALWAYS signal and look over your shoulder before turning the wheel. *I failed the 3rd time because kepala I tak cukup menoleh ke kanan*
  • THE S-CURVE AND THE CRANK
    - The S-curve is exactly that, a narrow curve shaped like an "S."
    - The crank is a very narrow section of road.  This crank is a road with two sharp right-angle turns, shaped like a square 'S' or '5'.
  • Red Lights  - Stop with your bumper well behind the line at a red light. Look both ways before proceeding, despite that it is green and your right-of-way.
  • Other Cars -  There will be very few other cars on the course at the same time as you, but when you do come across them, give them wide berth.
  • Crosswalks - You don't have to stop at a crosswalk, but slow down (pumping the brakes a couple times).

 (5) ADDITIONAL ADVICE
  • Love Your Mirrors - Always keep an eye on your mirrors, especially before a turn or a lane change. Look in your rear-view mirror before you brake.
  • Look Both Ways - Look left and right at EVERY INTERSECTION you cross, even if it is a traffic light intersection and the light is green.
  • Make Wide Right Turns - Although you should take left turns as tight as possible, take right turns rather wide, especially when you are turning onto a double-lane street. Also, remember to turn into the FAR LEFT lane when turning right.* I failed the 3rd time sebab I tak terus masuk ke lane kiri when turning right*
  • Speed - On the course, there is usually a long, straight area where the proctor will want you to go 35kph. Once you have reached the speed limit or the speed the proctor has indicated, slow down again immediately.
  • Obstructed Views - There will be one intersection with high walls on both sides.  GO SLOW. Approach the intersection very carefully, leaning forward toward your windshield as you go to check that the hidden view is clear.
  • Curves -  Take curves very slow, about 15-20kph. Pump your brakes repeatedly before entering a curve, but do not pump your brakes inside the curve.

(6) At the End
  1. The proctor will usually say the color of the pole he/she wants you to pull up at.
  2. Pull forward until your front bumper is exactly in line with the striped pole.
  3. Put on the emergency brake and put the car into Park.
  4. Turn off the car, leaving the key in the ignition.
  5. Wait for the proctor to give you further instructions. He may tell others in the car to leave before he tells you your mistakes. He may ask you to move into the back seat for the next driver. He may tell you to wait outside or in the building. Always be polite and try to say "arigato gozaimasu"

+- peta berconteng2 dengan tips. sila hafal peta kalau tak nak gelabah masa test -+

+- litar test -+

Selain dari habis duit *setiap kali re-test 4050 yen (RM 160)*; masa juga banyak di habiskan since kena ada kat tempat test tu dari pukul 1 tghari dan test cuma akan start dari pukul 2.30 ptg. So I memang bawak novel untuk I baca sambil menunggu.

+- The Zahir by Paulo Coelho -+

Walaupun step nak lulus tu macam tersangatlah leceh, tapi dah memang gitu lah style orang Jepun. Mungkin sebab itu lah pemandu diorang lebih berhemah dan bertoleransi di jalanraya kot. Kadang-kadang geram jugak sebabnya alasan gagal itu macam tak logik. Mind you kat Malaysia I pass test lesen kereta + motor on my first attempt sahaja. Tapi kat sini, lagi confident muka driver tu; lagi rendah chance untuk lulus kot.

Antara sebab-sebab I failed ialah kepala tak cukup menoleh ke belakang sebelum tukar lane, kedudukan kereta tak cukup rapat ke line sebelum membelok, membrek di selekoh dan juga tak terus masuk ke lane kiri when turning right.

Kesimpulannya, sila lah exaggerate setiap pergerakan mata dan kepala biar sampai lenguh2 tengkuk pun takpe. By the end of the test, I dah rasa macam I ni penari lagu hindustan sebab selalu kena geleng kepala kiri kanan jelir.

Mula-mula I bercadang nak ambik test 2x sahaja tapi sebab rasa tercabar dalam hati, maka I nak jugak amik sampai berjaya. I geram bila tak lulus sebab alasan2 kecil macam tu so I nak buktikan yang I mampu lulus.

Masa kali ke-4 test; I baca doa di permudahkan urusan banyak2 kali. Agaknya yang sebelum2 tu I tak lulus sebab I tak baca doa dulu; padahal semua urusan akan di permudahkan bila kita berdoa dengan penuh pengharapan pada Allah.

Psssstttt : memandangkan I dah ada lesen Jepun, semangat nak berjalan2 semakin membuak2. Jom pusing2 Jepun lagi...vroooommmmmmmmmmm.. *ecece, koya je padahal nak guna GPS kat kereta pun tak reti*

hihi teringat hubby amik lesen. 1st time amik dh lulus. cuma sblm tu ujian bertulis failed krg 1 markah kehkeh. org2 kt situ kata dia la yg 1st lulus dgn sekali test je. tp berbaloi la pengorbanan dia nk dptkan lesen tu. siap rayu tester tu ajar dia cara bwk kereta yg betul etc. g amik klass driving. berjln lbh 10km g blk. gigih betul masa memulakan hidup dlu hihi. kenangan terindah.

tp bagus jugak jepun buat mcm tu. dia bukan sahaja lahirkan pemandu. tp lahirkan pemandu berhemah. kt msia certain tmpt i rasa confident. tp dlm bandar sesak i takut sbb sikap pemandu.
