All parents have similar dreams for their children i.e. they want the best for their children. We (parent) always wanted our children to excel in life that sometimes we forget to inculcate true Islamic understanding and faith in our children.
How narrow-minded is it if a parent prepares their child for this life and does nothing for their child's Hereafter. If a parent really, really loves their child and wants the best for them, their goal first and foremost will be to raise the best Muslim they can. This is the best you can ever do for your child, in this life AND in the Hereafter, which is eternal.
I stumbled upon a documentary entitled "Koran By Heart" produced by HBO in YouTu.be last 3 days. The documentary filmed true story of three 10 year old kids who memorized Al-Quran by heart (eventhough they don't know Arabic) and can recite it with almost perfect tajweed.
"Allahhu Akbar, Subhanallah, Masya Allah", the documentary makes me cry and feel ashamed of myself because I can only memorized few surahs from Al-Quran and didn't make enough effort to improve myself in doing so.
+- the full video is no longer available in You.Tube -+
Details of the film/documentary --> HERE
Today, I found another amazing video of a 3 year old kid who can recite Al-Quran by heart too.
+- the subtitles are in Deutch -+
After watching these 2 videos, I feels encouraged to guide my child to be able to read and memorize Al-Quran better than me, Insya Allah.
As for now, SN is 25 months old. He can already read the hijayah letters and knew every single letters of hijaiyah (Alhamdulillah), so my next goal is to teach him on how to recite Al-Fatihah. May Allah show me the right path on doing it, Ameen.
Psssstttt : sambil ajar anak ABC, jangan lupa ajar anak baca alif ba ta juga ye kawan-kawan.
