Running and Jumping on the Snow

 

Its snowing quiet heavily last weekend in Fukuoka *which is kind of weird as we seldom have snow in mid-Feb* and I was thinking it's time for another playing in the snow session for my sister and my son. So here's what we were doing during the last Saturday --> Running & Jumping on the snow.

Snow start falling in the Saturday morning so we decided to went to Mitsuse Tunnel, Saga in the evening to play with the snow. I have to ask another Malaysian friend here to drive my car as hubby didn't allow me to drive on the hilly route if its snowing as the road becomes slippery during that time.

SN as usual enjoy his time out with the snow.  He made several attempt to make his own snowman, lying on the carpet of snow and scooping the snow with his hand.

But, to be honest SN is not the only one who enjoy his time out with the snow. Although I lost count on how many snow that I've experienced since these past 6 years, I still found the sight of snow as mesmerized as the first time I saw it 6 years ago in Munich.

My sister was lucky enough to play with the snow as well because it is quite unusual for Fukuoka to have snow in the middle of February. I guess due to the extreme weather this year, Fukuoka become colder than before thus explain why we have snow in Fukuoka during February.

It may look picturesque for us, but this deluge of snow is wreaking havoc in other part of Japan. The death toll from the blizzard this winter is now at least 82. Many of the casualties were crushed to death by snow falling on them from buildings, while some slipped from rooftops while trying to clear the snow. 

The severe weather has taken its toll on residents who say they are exhausted from clearing snow every day for at least month. Alhamdulillah that we dont encounter such problem here in Fukuoka'; it must've been hard for those who lives in the cold area of Japan such as Niigata and Hokkaido.
