time-frame: January 2009
(18th - 22nd weeks of pregnancy)
middle of 2nd trimester

"Apabila seseorang perempuan mengandung janin dalam rahimnya, maka beristighfarlah para malaikat untuknya. Allah mencatatkan baginya setiap hari dengan 1,000 kebajikan dan menghapuskan darinya 1,000 kejahatan".

DATE: 17th January 2008
VENUE: Nagano Sanfujika (Obstetrics & Gynecology) Clinic, Nishi-ku, Fukuoka-ken, Japan

My 5th month check up was carried out at the same clinic despite of the fact that the cost was quite expensive(read: 10000yen = rm380), but still hubby said we should just continue the check up there as he don't bother looking for other sanfujika (obst & gyn) clinic in this area. This time around, we go with A-T-Qah as our translator.

(pic dgn translator tak bergaji -- A-T-QaH)

Before get to meet the Dr, we were given a long talk + lots of brochures by one of the staff. The talk was some sort of briefing of what to be expected on the next months + what to buy for our baby + services offered by the clinic + free magazines on where to buy baby's item + free stuff for baby + the price of the service if I want to give birth at the clinic (the most important point that we take note on that briefing!). idea

(free magazines + free stuff)
* the blue Milton pack is a sample of liquids that we HAVE to prepare for baby's milk bottle sterilization process (bayi2 yg lahir kat jepun sgt bertuah. aku dulu botol susu basuh dgn air paip je) mrgreen

Guess how much will be the charge for giving birth at the clinic ???

its 450 000yen!!! (= RM 17000) eek

As hubby paid for monthly national health insurance, thus 70% of the payment will be covered by Japanese Government. What's good about giving birth in Japan is that a lump-sum Allowance for Childbirth and Nursing is provided when the insured person or their dependent delivers a baby. So, in the end if I decided to give birth at this clinic, then hubby have to pay 70,000yen (RM2700). We might go to other clinic or general hospital if we want to have cheaper price, but up till now the decision is still open to discussion. question

(book about baby & parenting information + pamphlets about the clinic)
** ye,aku x baca pon info tu sbb tak faham sepatah, tgk gambar2 je lah

Together with all those pamphlets, the nurse also check on my weight and the blood test. She's claiming that I'm a bit underweight for my 5month pregnancy (my weight was 51.8kg) and I need to eat brocolli + strawberry to increase the amount of HCT in my blood. I usually don't have problem to put on some weight during the last two winter that I've been spending in Germany & Spain. I eat a lot compared to before but still I didn't gain so much weight..... sigh! redface

(special sticker for me to stick on my bag whenever I'm in public in order to get 'special treatment' contohnya macam masa naik train ke, naik bas ke untuk dapat tempat duduk sebab time ni kan perut tak membusung lagi)

After almost 1hour of the briefing session, I went to see Dr for the check-up. Nothing much difference with the last month check-up. My baby and I were in good condition, nothing to be worried about. biggrin

(my baby 20weeks 5days, he/she has gain 50% weight compared to during the 4th month: 139g --> 315g)

The check-up ends up after that. We went straight to udon shop for lunch..lapar gilozz dari kul 9pg-12tgh kat klinik je. Good thing about this time check-up is that it's for FREE! In fact, we are given 5 times free check-up at the clinic because as I said earlier, hubby has the kenkou houken (national health insurance). COOL huh?

However 2 days after that, I have to be at the clinic again because I suddenly have small spot bleeding. It worries me as it was unusual to bleed during 2nd trimester. Even the Dr couldn't really tell the reason of the bleeding, but he did mention not to worries so much and he gave me some pills to take for 5days in order to stop the bleeding. (bertambah pil yang terpaksa di telan selain drpd folic acid + neuro gain yg wajib di telan setiap hari tu huhuhu) surprised

( for those who knows me, you know how difficult for me to finish taking the pills huhuuhuhu )

The nurses were even saying that I have to be admitted at the clinic if I cant really take rest while I'm home. She told me not to do anything that might stressed out and not to carry any heavy thing. (konfius sangat masa ni coz aku memang tak buat apa2 kat rumah..memang rilek gilozz. kije aku cuma masak je). Luckily the bleeding stops after 4days and I dont have to be admitted to the clinic...legaaaa razz

Pssst: At first I though the bleeding was due to an incident when hubby's accidentally kicked my tummy when he's sleeping (maklumlah katil single utk 2 orang yang buntal lol), but then Dr told me that it was only due to darah period yang tak habis keluar dulu. Cehhh...baru nak wat hubby rasa bersalah hik hik hik.mrgreen

I am writing this entry to make sure that I'll always remember each and every lovely moment that I have encountered during my pregnancy. I hope that one day, whenever I'm pregnant for my next baby( 1st baby pon x keluar lg, dh sibuk2 nak fikir next baby hihiihi)......this experiences that I'm having rite now will remain as a memorable experience in my life.
